A gift of hope
December 2008

If you have people on your Christmas list who already have everything they could possibly need or want, why not consider making a donation to the Stouffville Igoma Partnership (SIP) in their name?

The partnership was established in 2003 to raise funds for the town of Igoma in Tanzania, where lack of access to health care, education and clean water has resulted in grinding poverty and high sickness and mortality rates. Stouffville has supplied volunteers and funding to help build a health centre, install water purification systems, provide education and vocational training for children and young adults, and provide mosquito nets to protect residents from malaria.

Volunteers use their own money to travel to Igoma and SIP holds an annual dinner to raise funds for current and future projects. For gift donations, the organization supplies beautiful cards, with the name of the donor and recipient. It’s a wonderful way of celebrating the spirit of the season.

For more information contact the Whitchurch-Stouffville Chamber of Commerce at 905-642-4227 or EastRidge Missionary Church at 905-640-3911 ext. 42.
