SIP is pleased to offer vocational assistance to young adult residents of Igoma. Training, held at the Vocational Education Training Academy (VETA), is offered in variety of trades including masonry, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, motor mechanics, computer literacy and food services. The cost for a two-semester course, including meals, board, uniform, footwear, and tool kit upon graduation is $400 CDN. In 2007, nine SIP scholarships to VETA were awarded.
SIP also offers scholarships to Igomans for medical asssitance training/upgrading for nurses aids, lab technicians and midwives. The costs for the courses vary from $500 - $1000 CDN.
